PakTech 6Paks Dramatically Reduce Secondary Packaging for Canned Goods
In an effort to provide secondary packaging alternatives for canned goods products, PakTech developed handles which would replace cardboard and shrink bundles. The over-the-top handle is also designed such that the cans ‘nest and stack’ in a pallet format. PakTech finds the handles allow canned goods products to simply stack on top of one another and nest tightly to create a snug pallet configuration. According to Sales Director Richard Shumate, “These new handles look great, and work well. During the testing, we were amazed at the dramatic reduction of material when comparing the handles to shrink and cardboard. There is no doubt that our readily recyclable handles reduce cost and waste.” The company will be providing a detailed comparison between the two secondary packaging options as well as an investigative video in Jan 08. Handles and equipment are available now for production volumes.
