PakTech Demonstrates Dramatic Reduction of
Secondary Packaging for Canned Beverages
In an effort to lessen the secondary packaging waste for canned beverages, PakTech developed handles which would replace cardboard and shrink bundles. The over-the-top handle is also designed such that the cans ‘nest and stack’ in a pallet format. PakTech finds the handles allow cans to simply stack on top of one another and nest tightly to create a snug pallet configuration. According to Sales Director Richard Shumate, “These new handles look great, and work well. Our readily recyclable handles reduce cost and waste – about 60 lbs. of secondary packaging material per pallet!” For serious inquiries, the company will provide a DVD demonstrating their new offerings. Handles and equipment are available now for production volumes
